Want to be a Luxury Real Estate Agent? Here’s how

The luxury real estate industry is still lucrative despite the COVID-19 pandemic. Property prices also went up in 2020. Most clients still prefer to buy lots instead of condominiums. Last year, our luxury real estate company launched several projects and we sold out at the pre-launching stage. Being a luxury real estate agent puts you on the elite list of property sellers. It’s a very promising career even for fresh graduates. Brokers and salespersons can make millions in one sale. If you have a background in sales work, you can be successful in this job. Would you like to be a multi-millionaire property seller? Read this to find out how you can break into this industry.

1. Take a Real Estate Salesperson Course and Be Licensed

The common misconception is that you need to be a licensed broker to sell property. A licensed salesperson can still sell property without taking the 4- year broker course. All you have to do is take a short course and be assigned to a real estate broker. By law, salespersons cannot process documentation for properties so you will need a broker to do that. If you have a broker friend, you can ask him to supervise you. After taking the course, you can apply for a license.

2. Get a Fancy Hobby, Attend Events, or Learn a New Sport

To meet high profile clients, you can join a hobby group or community, or be present in events that attract wealthy people. A great sport to learn is golf for networking and meeting new contacts. Find out about any art or auction events near your area that you can attend. Go to museums, shopping centers, or weekend community markets in prominent areas.

3. Establish Your Personal Brand

You can hire a social media page manager to make a page/website with your own logo to distinguish from other sellers. Do not post anything that is considered inappropriate on social media, even on your personal page. Invest in a new wardrobe and follow the company dress code. You are dealing with rich clients so make sure that you are presentable at all times. You will also need a professional business card.

4. Build Your Network

Start with your family. Get in touch with relatives that are affluent or have connections to the target clientele. Go back to old contacts that may give you a referral. Be present in activities and events for the community. A simple charity event or outreach program may help you know and be connected to government officials. If you’re the outgoing type, use your interpersonal skills to introduce yourself properly for prospecting.

5. Read and Research About Luxury Real Estate Agents

There are several TV shows that feature high-end property sellers. If they have a social media account, follow them to watch their videos. Read their books or blogs. You have to get into the rich mindset as well. Surround yourself with colleagues who have sold many high-end properties. Find out how they made an icebreaker of luxury properties.

Selling any kind of property is challenging but possible if you are consistent and determined. The great thing is, you can do this job part-time initially. When you make the first sale, you can decide if this will be your regular job. Just remember to save some time for yourself and your family. Careers in real estate are always available. Companies are hiring every month to look for new sellers. Start updating your resume now and look for job openings in luxury real estate. Goodluck!
