MANILA, Philippines—The Chery Tiggo Crossovers faced a tough challenge before securing their quarterfinals berth in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference, defeating Farm Fresh in four sets, 29-27, 15-25, 25-22, 25-21, on Tuesday night.

Adorador Leads Crossovers to Victory

Captain Shaya Adorador delivered the final blow, smashing the ball off blockers Trisha Tubu and Lorene Toring to seal the best-of-three quarterfinal matchup against the defending champions, Creamline Cool Smashers.

“Facing Creamline in the quarterfinals won’t be easy. They are filled with veteran players and we are determined to work doubly hard to compete against them,” said Adorador, who finished with 18 points, most of which came from critical attacks.

Galang and Robles Provide Key Contributions

Veteran Ara Galang led the Crossovers’ charge with 20 points, highlighted by 16 attacks, three blocks, and an ace.

Meanwhile, Cess Robles stepped up with 12 points, particularly in the final stretch of the fourth set, where Chery Tiggo had to fend off a late-game rally from Farm Fresh.

“We saw the strength of our team in dealing with those situations. We were tested, but everyone wanted to win and play in the quarterfinals,” Galang shared.

Turning the Tide in Favor of Chery Tiggo

The first set proved to be a tight battle, with Chery Tiggo edging out Farm Fresh in an extended frame. However, the Foxies bounced back in the second, with Trisha Tubu leading an offensive surge to tie the match at one set apiece.

Farm Fresh continued to put up a fight in the third set, but middle blockers Seth Rodriguez and Aby Maraño stepped up defensively, helping Chery Tiggo regain control and secure the victory.

Now advancing to the quarterfinals, the Crossovers prepare for a major showdown against the powerhouse Creamline squad, determined to continue their run in the PVL All-Filipino Conference.
