Block your calendars for the December 14 mid-season update for Season 1 of Modern Warfare and Warzone.
Activision has announced that the mid-season update for Season 1 of Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2. COD Modern Warfare 2 fans await the free content update which will include a new Raid mode starting next week. Here are the other updates:
World Cup Season
For battle royale, COD added a Rocket League-style “Warzone Cup” as a limited-time mode in celebration of the Men’s World Cup. The mode brings two trio teams to a soccer field with special ATV features. Players get to navigate the ATV with a pulse ability to push a massive soccer ball into the other team’s goal. First team to score five goals or the team with the most goals at the end of the five-minute time limit, wins.
Building 21
Warzone 2’s DMZ mode is getting a brand-new location! Activision codenamed a classified edifice: Building 21. With some street smart and problem-solving, players can uncover how to find and access the new area. Pay off may promise players high-tier Contraband weapons and loot in the location.
Holiday-themed map
The classic Shipment map from 2007’s Modern Warfare will be back, but in holiday-theme, of course. The festive visuals will stick around during the holiday season. Watch out for the stormy setting on a cargo ship at sea features.
Atomgrad
The most awaited first Destiny-style Raid with the launch of Episode One: Atomgrad is set to follow the events of Price, Farah and Gaz as they make a grim discovery in an underground bunker. The events of the Modern Warfare 2 campaign and the raid will allow players to unlock a “familiar face” as a brand-new operator to use across multiplayer and Warzone 2.
