To pay homage to women in the industry, know these top 5 rising fourth-generation girl groups who proved that, indeed, GIRLS RUN THE WORLD!   1. AESPA

AESPA is the most popular fourth-generation girl group. Songs like Black Mamba, Next Level, Savage, and Aenergy brought recognition to the group.  However, “Life Too Short”, one of their latest singles from  comeback EP “Girls” paved the way for their infiltration of the Western market, signing under Warner records. The group held their comeback stage at the GMA Summer Concert last July 8th.

2. NEW JEANS

New Jeans is the second most trending fourth-generation girl group. These ladies’ debut album, “NewJeans”, offers a fresh, youthful, yet powerfully engaging theme, perfect for their young yet competent members. The girls have successfully proved their capabilities by winning the “Next Leader” award at The Fact Music Awards in just 79 days after debuting. Their “Attention” MV also garnered 7.29 million views within a week after release.

3. LE SSERAFIM

LE SSERAFIM is the third most talked about the girl group. These fourth-generation artists, whose group name is an anagram for “I’m fearless” defied the odds by persevering as a quintet, from a sextet, despite all the issues surrounding their debut and ex-member, Kim Garam. Debuting with the “Fearless” album, the girls became the first KPOP girl group to achieve 300,000 sales of a debut album during the first tracking week. Their comeback album, “ANTIFRAGILE” released on October 17th, and their performances at TFMA 2022 and KCON Japan 2022 are currently what the girls have in store for their fans and the world.

4. ITZY

ITZY is the fourth most trending girl group of the fourth generation. Their song “Dalla Dalla” earned a spot among the biggest Billboard debuts of new KPOP acts when it entered the World Digital Song Sales chart in third place and peaked second. The girls’ latest comeback is their “Checkmate” EP, which entered Billboard 200 in eighth place. It is also the name of their first world tour, announced in June.

5. (G)I-DLE

(G)I-DLE is the fifth most famous girl group. The once sextet fourth generation group debuted last May 2018 with their EP “I Am” followed by the digital single “Hann (Alone)” which peaked at eighth place on the Gaon Digital Chart. In August 2021, the group continued as a quintet when rapper Seo Soo-jin left the line-up. “HWAA” remains their most-awarded single, with a total of 10 music show wins. In October, the group released various teasers of the upcoming MV of their title track, “Nxde.” The group also announced their “Just Me” world tour earlier this year.
