In 2024, P-pop (Pinoy pop) cemented itself as a major cultural force, generating millions of positive engagements across social media. Groups like BGYO, BINI, and SB19 played a significant role in expanding its influence both locally and globally.
According to a social media analysis by Capstone-Intel Corp., Facebook saw 12,904 posts related to P-pop from January 1 to December 31, 2024. These posts attracted 435,448 comments, 790,650 shares, and a staggering 10,598,946 reactions, leading to an impressive engagement score of 1,894,089.4.
The overwhelming majority of reactions were positive, with 75.8% being “love,” 18.3% “like,” 4.5% “haha,” 0.9% “wow,” 0.5% “sad,” and just 0.1% “angry.”
Posts highlighting P-pop achievements resonated the most with audiences. ABS-CBN News garnered the highest number of “love” reactions (191,046) for a post celebrating the senior high school graduation of BGYO members Gelo, Mikki, and JL, along with BINI members Maloi and Colet.
Other viral posts included Philippine Star’s congratulatory message for Maloi and Colet, their video covering the BINI Run event along Roxas Blvd., and GMA News’ coverage of BINI’s performance at the M Countdown preshow in Los Angeles.
The most engaging post was ABS-CBN News’ feature on BGYO and BINI’s graduation, earning an engagement score of 47,565.1. Following closely were Philippine Star’s post about BINI’s “Cherry on Top” music video release (21,578.5), GMA News’ report on BINI’s M Countdown appearance (20,411.1), and Philippine Star’s tribute to BINI’s milestones (19,056.9), including their first solo concert, “BINIVERSE” (17,782.4).
