For those gamers who love hitting the 100% completion mark on their catalogue of titles, Modern Warfare 3 might be set to leave quite a sour taste in your mouth.
Some titles take the mick to complete – who can forget that horrific Hogwarts Legacy Merlin Trial malarkey? – but finally getting that Platinum Trophy on PlayStation can ease all of your pain and finally fulfil your need for perfection.
So if you had your hopes set on getting your boots filled with Modern Warfare 3, it appears you’re always going to be left dissatisfied, as it comes without a Platinum Trophy.
Modern Warfare 3 comes without a Platinum Trophy on PlayStation 5
Modern Warfare 3 is now available to be downloaded, with the Campaign Early Access week launching and a pre-load opportunity allowing it to land in your games list before it goes live.
With this, fans can now see the achievement/trophies lists for Modern Warfare 3, with a full list of 39 challenges for players to be cyphering through.
However, PlayStation is showing that there is no Platinum Trophy for full completion, only the tiered bronze-to-gold ones.
Why is a lack of a Platinum Trophy bad for Modern Warfare 3 fans?
COD Modern Warfare 3 on PS5 doesn’t have a Platinum trophy, it’s a DLC list for Modern Warfare 2. Only the PS4 version has a standalone list and Platinum trophy. What the heck! pic.twitter.com/cgIxwuJW0k

Following Call of Duty HQ’s introduction, effectively making all new games as DLCs of CoD, Modern Warfare 3 is now being judged by PlayStation not to be a full game and just a subsection of CoD HQ, hence no Trophy.
What this does mean though is that those hopeful that game-sharing can be overturned might be left even more disappointed, as DLCs don’t fall under this method.
Weirdly, the PlayStation 4 variant of Modern Warfare 3 does have a Platinum Trophy, which means we might be treated to one on PS5 when the full game launches next week.
