Activision confirms Game Sharing will work in Modern Warfare 3

Well, folks, Christmas is back on!

Previous reports that the Grinch stole Modern Warfare 3 Game Sharing have now been debunked.

That’s right, parents and friends around the globe will now be able to breathe a sigh of relief for their bank accounts, as Activision has now confirmed Game Sharing is allowed again.

Modern Warfare 3 will allow Game Sharing after all

Modern Warfare 3 launched early with its Campaign coming a week before the multiplayer and zombies launch, and on top of some rather unfavourable reviews for the story mode, the CoD HQ app update appeared to block the chance to share your game.

The Game Sharing technique appeared to be defunct after players originally downloaded the Early Access campaign, but ahead of the title’s full launch, Activision has now responded to online queries and confirmed it will be available.

In an email exchange to a fan named “AJ”, Activision Support said, “We have confirmation that game sharing should work for full launch, just as it previously functioned during MWII“.

Game Sharing is now reportedly working on Modern Warfare 3

According to the popular Call of Duty account CharlieIntel, game sharing should now be available when you complete today’s CoD HQ update.

The update itself is no small feat though, with Xbox users being handed a colossal 135GB download and PlayStation’s being around the 100GB mark too.

However, once this has been installed, and Call of Duty has ported in the pre-load for Modern Warfare 3 multiplayer and zombies, you should now have the option to share the game with another console.

Christmas is saved!
