Hornets get tough Brandon Miller injury update midway through contest vs. Knicks

The Charlotte Hornets are in the middle of an afternoon matchup with the New York Knicks as they look to pick up their fourth win of the season. Doing so is going to be significantly more difficult, however, based on the latest injury news for Brandon Miller, who was forced out of this game early with an ankle injury.

Miller had been having a strong start to the game (11 PTS, 3 REB, 5-6 FGM) before he had an awkward collision with Josh Hart where he appeared to roll his ankle. Miller was quickly ruled out for the rest of the game with a sprained ankle, which isn’t a good sign for a Hornets team that has already come to rely on Miller quite a bit for his production.

Miller has been having a solid start to his rookie campaign (13 PPG, 4.4 RPG, 1.8 APG, 41.9 FG%), and he had been given a bigger role with Terry Rozier also missing time. Now, though, it seems like he will be joining Rozier on the sideline for awhile, as the fact that he was ruled out of this game pretty much immediately after the injury occurred indicated that it may be serious.

Miller’s status over the next few days will be worth monitoring, and the hope is that this injury won’t be something that keeps him off the court for very long. Unfortunately, given the circumstances surrounding his departure in this game, it seems like the Hornets may want to anticipate being without their star rookie for a bit of time due to this ankle injury.
